Welcome to Tayseer AI. We are an Arabic language learning application that uses artificial intelligence to help you master Modern Standard Arabic. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile app and website.
By using Tayseer AI, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our educational services:
2.1 Contact Information
Name and Email Address: We collect your name and email when you create an account. This is used for authentication, personalization, and communication about your learning progress.
2.2 User Content
Learning Content: Your vocabulary cards, lesson history, conversation practice sessions, and learning progress are stored to personalize your experience and track your advancement.
Photos and Camera Images: When you use the Words Camera feature, images are uploaded to our cloud storage to identify objects and generate vocabulary. Images are stored in your private folder and deleted when you delete your account.
Audio Recordings: Voice recordings are used for two features: speech-to-text transcription (processed via Google Cloud Speech-to-Text) and pronunciation assessment (processed via Google Vertex AI Gemini). Audio is not retained after processing.
2.3 Usage Data
App Interactions: We track which lessons you complete, how you interact with features, your XP and level, achievements, daily streaks, and review patterns to personalize content and improve our algorithms.
2.4 Subscription Information
Purchase History: Your subscription status, plan type (Free/Pro), and transaction records are managed through Apple's App Store and Google Play, and RevenueCat.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data exclusively for educational purposes:
- Personalization: Tailoring lessons to your proficiency level and learning style
- Progress Tracking: Calculating XP, levels, streaks, and spaced repetition schedules
- AI-Generated Content: Creating custom lessons, conversations, and vocabulary based on your needs
- App Improvement: Analyzing usage patterns to enhance features and fix issues
- Account Management: Authentication, subscription handling, and support
We do NOT: Sell your data, use it for advertising, or track you across other apps and websites.
3.1 AI Data Processing
Tayseer AI uses Google AI services (Gemini via Vertex AI) to generate personalized Arabic lessons, provide conversational practice, and assess pronunciation. When you interact with AI features, the following data is sent to Google's servers for processing:
- Text messages you type in AI chat sessions
- Images you capture or upload (e.g., Words Camera)
- Audio recordings for speech-to-text transcription and pronunciation assessment
- Learning profile: your language preference, Arabic proficiency level, and learning goals — used to calibrate AI responses to your level
- Conversation context: up to two recent messages from the current session, so the AI can provide relevant follow-up responses
- Lesson context: when asking about a specific lesson, the relevant Arabic text and its translation are included
Google processes this data solely to generate a response and does not use it to train its models or for advertising. Your name, email, account ID, and subscription status are never sent to Google. For more details, see Google Vertex AI Data Governance.
4. Third-Party Services
We partner with trusted third-party services to operate Tayseer AI:
4.1 Clerk (Authentication)
Handles user sign-in via email, Apple, Google, and Microsoft OAuth. Clerk Privacy Policy

4.3 RevenueCat (Subscriptions)
Manages in-app subscriptions and purchase verification through Apple's App Store and Google Play. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
4.4 Google Cloud & Vertex AI
Powers AI-generated lessons and conversations (Gemini via Vertex AI), image recognition (Words Camera), speech-to-text transcription (Google Cloud Speech-to-Text), and pronunciation assessment (Google Vertex AI Gemini). Data sent to Google is described in Section 3.1 above. Google Privacy Policy
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. Access to your personal data is restricted to authorized personnel and systems only.
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

8. Data Retention & Account Deletion
We retain your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.
How to Delete Your Account
- Open Tayseer AI
- Tap your profile icon
- Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm your request
Account deletion has a 7-day grace period during which you can cancel by tapping the same "Delete Account" button in your profile settings.
What Gets Deleted After 7 Days
- Your profile and username
- Email address and authentication data
- Vocabulary cards and learning progress
- Lesson history and quiz results
- AI chat sessions and generated content
- Uploaded images (Words Camera)
- Audio recordings (already deleted after processing)
- Subscription records (local; App Store/Google Play may retain purchase history independently)
What We Cannot Delete
- Purchase history held by Apple App Store or Google Play
- Anonymized, aggregated analytics that cannot identify you

9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using Tayseer AI, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
