Where do I start with Arabic?

Start with the alphabet, not with phrases. Here is the order that works.

Start here: the alphabet

Do not learn Arabic in Latin letters. You will have to unlearn it later. The 28 letters take a week or two. This is the best first investment.

Then: real sentences

Not word lists. Sentences people actually say: hello, how are you, where are you from. You meet the same words again and again, and they stick.

Then: listen a lot

Every new word should come with sound. Arabic has sounds your eyes cannot teach you. Your ears must learn them.

The order matters

Letters → sentences → listening → more of everything. Apps and books that skip the letters feel fast in week one and slow forever after.
